Todays production update is scene16A. This shot took some time because I hadn’t done any rough animation since the first draft of the animatic. I had a few color sketches but no more then 4-5. However despite not having a ton of concept art for the idea I knew what I wanted since the very beginning. I didn’t see a reason to change it much, the biggest experimental’s where the colors and the timing. So it was pretty easy to piece together but it did take some time to animate due to all the layers it comes with. I have to change a few timing issues, its a match cut so it needs to read right. I will come back to a final pass soon enough.

Todays update are some screen shots from a scene I wrapped up a few weeks ago. This scene in where you first see the game FRANK is playing. I had only storyboarded the scene and done rough animation on after effects, So returning to this scene was exciting for two reasons. One, I was closer to the finish line. Two, it was finally time to tackle this scene after years of waiting. The challenged was at the door step, a challenge I was looking forward to over coming. My vision for the scene never really changed since the very first draft.

As I started working on it I added elements to experiment. Found some that worked and some that didnt…so I got to experiment and I really enjoyed this process. I got it done rather quickly.

Todays FRANK update are some screen shots from a scene I finished a few weeks back. In this scene Frank drops his flowers and does a turn around before walking of screen. Some of the biggest challenges with this scene was making sure the flowers hitting the water n vase went smooth. I finished animating this scene about 2 years ago and when I worked on the color script I simply did a rough pass. So when it was time to color I wasn’t sure how it would go. It took about 1 month to color the scene. This is one of the few shots where we see a full body FRANK.

I have been working on the final design n color for the background. But for the most part what you see is what you’ll get!

Todays update are a few screen shots from last weeks progress. I have been having a lot of fun with my approach to coloring and designing these backgrounds. They are the first and only glimpes at the after math, so these stills are kinda a big deal for the story. However I want to keep it lose and just have fun.

Todays blog post is an update on this scene. I am done coloring all the frames after todays corrections. All thats left is to composite and to add a few finish backgrounds. Its a very long scene apx 24 seconds long. Its taken me more then 3 months to finish all the frames. This is the second longest scene in the film, but its very important because it carries a tremendous emotional impact.

Anyway enjoy!

Todays FRANK update is the start of a new scene. I wrapped up the last scene a few days ago and have been setting up the new file for my next scene to color. This scene is where Frank is watering his pots and we are introduced to the game. Its a very long scene, just a bit longer then the last one, however the movement is very minimal which will allow me to make progress rather quickly. Enjoy the beginning of this scene!

Hello! Todays production update is one I been working on for a while. I finally finished coloring this scene and have begun to composite it. Its about 11 seconds long with holds. The scene was 41 frames not accounting for holds and took me over 2 months to complete. I have been really consistent these past few months and im super happy i can finally move on to a new scene. I learnt a lot from this scene due to it having many moving parts
