Todays production update is scene16A. This shot took some time because I hadn’t done any rough animation since the first draft of the animatic. I had a few color sketches but no more then 4-5. However despite not having a ton of concept art for the idea I knew what I wanted since the very beginning. I didn’t see a reason to change it much, the biggest experimental’s where the colors and the timing. So it was pretty easy to piece together but it did take some time to animate due to all the layers it comes with. I have to change a few timing issues, its a match cut so it needs to read right. I will come back to a final pass soon enough.

Todays FRANK update are some screen shots from a scene I finished a few weeks back. In this scene Frank drops his flowers and does a turn around before walking of screen. Some of the biggest challenges with this scene was making sure the flowers hitting the water n vase went smooth. I finished animating this scene about 2 years ago and when I worked on the color script I simply did a rough pass. So when it was time to color I wasn’t sure how it would go. It took about 1 month to color the scene. This is one of the few shots where we see a full body FRANK.
I have been working on the final design n color for the background. But for the most part what you see is what you’ll get!

Its been few weeks since the last update, so here is a quick peek into the process so since we last spoke.
I been working on long scene for a few weeks now, this scene when FRANK smells his flowers at the window is about 42 frames. Each frame has about 3-4 layers and so its taking some time. I have found the rhythm after the first few frame so the moral is high with this scene, especially since I just passed the half way mark. The last scene was just as long but i overcame that one and going into this scene i knew it would be very similar. However I was aware that it would be rough at first but i would find my rhythm and before i knew it i would be finishing up the scene and exploring the file. I am happy to say im still in high spirits and might have even caught a second wind, stay tooned for more updates

Todays blog update are some frames from the current scene I am coloring. I am almost ready to export and composite the animation, the back ground however is a different story, there is still some things left to tighten up before Im confident with marking it done.
This scene our big guy FRANK is coming from off screen and he is walking towards the window, this scene was a lot of fun to draw, it was a little challenging due to the perspective walk, but since its a 3/4 back shot its wasn’t to difficult once I shot some reference.

Hello! it’ss been a minute but Im still chipping away! This blog post is a color study on the opening scene. I have drawn this background many many time’s but I have yet to find the right one. I recently started working on it again, this time around Im liking what I have, it feel’s stronger and more fitting then the previous ones.
This scene will have a day time and night time, so I been playing around with colors. The blue and black skies will remain but Im still not sure on the layout.

todays update is a concept page for the game that our main character plays. I have not decided what the scene will look like, its been on my mind for a long time, I haven’t started the actual animation yet, I just been playing around with what it could look like and why. Obviously I want to convey all the right emotions (repetitive and time consuming being two of the big ones) but I’m currently chipping away at some other scenes.
